FAQs

1. What is the ordering process?
You will decide how many videos you want to do for your project and an average length for them, and pay the initial payment to secure the studio time. You will then create and send us draft scripts, sometimes through our control panel, sometimes via email. We will review them and send them back with suggested edits. Once you sign off on your scripts, we will forward the script to the studio (and actor) to allow them to prepare. We do the shoot and send the footage to our processing team for editing and encoding. The videos are typically live within 7 days of the recording session, let us know if you need them live sooner. The remainder payment is charged and the hosting subscription is started when the videos are added to your account.

2. Does this technology require me to re-design my site, my visitors to have a special computer, or pose any security risk?
No, you do not need to re-design your site, you just need to insert a little bit of code anywhere in your html on pages where you want your videos to appear. Our testing has proven that about 98 percent of your visitors with a broadband connection will be able to see your videos on their current computers. If they don not have broadband, a message saying that the speed check failed will appear for a couple of seconds instead of the video so that the visitor does not wait. Our technology is kept simple to minimize its impact on your website, and does not pose any security risk. Feel free to contact us with any specific questions... we are here to help.

3. What should the person in the video say, and how long should the videos be?
We will work with you to create high impact scripts for your videos. Homepage videos should be less than 45 seconds and should not get into too much detail. A simple greeting and a teaser on significant areas of your site will be effective. Product and information pages can have more detailed videos that are a little longer, though our user testing has shown that is is better to break up your videos into focused messages under 90 seconds. Keep in mind you can start videos from relevent text or graphic links located throughout your current site.

4. Can the spokesperson move in the videos?
You want to personally connect with your visitors so the script should be conversational. This should also apply to your movements, within reason. Most people speak with their hands and you should use natural movements as you would if you were standing right in front of someone. The more natural the scripting and movements, the more effective the videos will be.

5. Can the video be a different size, show up where I want it on my page, and include more than one person?
Yes, yes, and yes! Just let us know what size your video needs to be... our player resizes itself to fit each individual video so that it covers less of your website. You will sign into your control panel here to position your videos anywhere you want on your website. No html changes required! And you can have a couple of people in a video, but keep in mind one video can start another when it is finished. That means that one video can start in the lower right, and after it another person can walk out of the lower left, and so on.

LivePeople INCREASES Conversion Rates!

"Since we added videos of real people, our number of online sales has doubled. The customers that do call to speak to one of our sales representatives have fewer questions and are usually ready to order, which reduces the amount of time our phone lines are busy. This service has made us stand out significantly from our competitors. I would highly recommend videos of real people to anyone who wants to increase profits, improve efficiency, reduce operating cost, and stand out in the crowd."
